Tuition and Training
Professional Impact NJ provides ongoing financial assistance to family day care
providers, Assistant Teachers, Group Teachers, Head Teachers and
School-Age providers for courses leading to an associates or bachelors
degree with an early childhood emphasis, early childhood teacher
credential (P-3 endorsement), Child Development Associate (CDA)
or Certified Childcare Professional (CCP) credential. Employers
who have paid for courses on behalf of the applicant may be reimbursed.
Funds
may be used to cover the cost of college tuition for those courses
leading to a degree with an early childhood emphasis,
non-credit
or credit bearing courses leading to a CDA or CCP
credential. College and credit bearing CDA or CCP courses may be
reimbursed at a maximum rate of $3,000 annually. Non-credit CDA
or CCP courses may be reimbursed at a maximum rate of $550 annually.
CDA applicants can submit for partial reimbursement provided at
least 60 hours of training has been completed.
Employees of Center Based Care Agencies (CBC) or DHS-contracted
childcare centers working less than thirty (30) hours a week are
eligible to apply. CBC or DHS-contracted employees working more
than thirty (30) hours per week must access the NJ Early Childhood
Scholarship Program by calling (973) 391-2633. Employees of public
school districts are not eligible for financial assistance. They
must access their own school district's tuition reimbursement program.
ELIGIBILITY GUIDELINES
1. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school
diploma or GED.
2. Applicants must be employed as a family childcare provider, Assistant
Teacher, Group Teacher, Head Teacher or School-Age providers in
the field of early care and education.
3. Applicants must be registered in the NJ Registry for Childhood
Professionals. Applications may be obtained on this website
or by calling (973) 391-2633.
4. Must submit ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION.
5. All courses must have been completed within one-year prior to
date of application to be eligible for reimbursement.
6. Adjusted gross individual income of applicant
must be less than or equal to 350% of federal poverty guidelines.
Please call for current guidelines. Two most recent, consecutive
pay stubs OR a W-2 form must be submitted.
7. Applicants who have completed college courses must document a
minimum grade of "B" in each course.
8. Applicants who have attended non-credit courses towards a CDA
(provided applicant completed at least 60 hours of training) or
CCP, must submit proof of completion.
Funds are available October 1 - September 30 and are subject
to availability.
ALL
COURSES MUST HAVE BEEN COMPLETED WITHIN ONE YEAR PRIOR TO DATE OF
APPLICATION IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENT.
